Having four decades of far- reaching experiences in Environment, Ozone layer protection and climate change on policy, planning, regulatory measures, project development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Worked as scientist in various levels in Central Pollution Control Board, MoEFCC and UNDP and worked closely with Prime Mister’s Office, other line ministries, national and state agencies, Industries and Industry Associations and Multilateral (UNDP, UNIDO, World Bank, UNEP, ADB etc.), and Bilateral Organizations (GIZ, SDC, JICA, DFID etc.) at national and global level.
Received Stratospheric Ozone Layer Protection Award in 2007 given by the USEPA. During this period, he represented India in the Meetings of the Montreal Protocol, UNFCCC, Convention on Biodiversity and Desertification and actively participated in negotiations. As Technical/ Senior Advisor, he was associated with UNDP, BEE, IPE Global, NIDM, INRM Consulting, IIED (UK), ICIMOD (Nepal), Citron Consulting, and Vasudha Foundation, India, to develop the Climate Action Plans at State, District, and Gram Panchayat levels including Climate Resilient Health Infrastructures.
Elected as member representing India for the Consultative Group of Expert for non-annex-I Countries for preparation of National Communication and Biennial update report (UNCFF; 2014-2017) and continuing as Expert Member in the roaster of UNFCCC. Acted as member of the Steering Committee for implementation of NICRA, Ministry of Agriculture, GoI; Expert Member of the State Steering Committee on climate change, Manipur and Madhya Pradesh; Expert Member: Climate Resilient Health Facilities in India, MoHFW, GoI and Namami Gange Project of Ministry of Water Resources implemented by IIPA, New Delhi. He was also Vice Chair of the committee on climate change of ASOCHAM. He has published large number of Reports and papers on these aspects.
